Dog Food For Rottweilers

These energetic dogs don’t need grub stuffed full of high GI-grains and meat ya mother wouldn’t eat.

Scratch is low-starch, low-carb, made fresh, owned independent and most importantly, keeps Rottweilers going all day with sustainable energy.

Scratch has helped hundreds of Rottweilers thrive thanks to:

Berries

Using low-inflammation food without all the processing

Why do so many modern dogs suffer from skin & stomach issues? Cheap, powdered and over-processed ingredients are a common culprit. ‘Pet food meat’ is used in nearly every dog food out there, and is typically the lowest quality option (often with more bone and carcass than meat and organs).

Scratch uses meat from the human food supply chain and tops off each recipe with healthy oils for a resilient gut, shiny coat and tough immune system.

Salmon Dog Food

Low GI superfoods for sustainable energy 🏃

Rottweilers have stacks of energy and need slow-release foods to keep them up & active all day… without the crash and burn.

We believe in the Scratch approach: high protein, fat and fibre-packed veggies to keep your Rottweilers full and encourage a stable release of energy.

Asset 7

Nourishing vitamins, minerals and supplements for joint health

Rottweilers need special protection to protect from hip & elbow joint conditions. Every Scratch recipe is packed full of essential vitamins and minerals to keep joints & bones healthy long into the golden years.

Kick joint protection up a notch by choosing the Kangaroo recipe – with added glucosamine, chondroitin supplements and hydrolysed collagen, all to nourish joint health.

Rottweilers should eat premium grub, human-grade meat and a recipe that caters to their special dietary needs

Your dog’s food should be doing more than keeping them alive. It should be sustaining them with top-quality ingredients, cutting out filler and enriching their health with wholefoods.

Dry food, wet food, freshly prepared or home-cooked, most of the dog food brands out there miss the mark.

✅ Scratch is formulated by master qualified nutritionists to meet all the nutritional requirements Rottweilers need, as set out in the AAFCO guidelines

✅ Each recipe is chockfull of premium, human-grade meat and real veggies (not powdered crap)

✅ Sustain your Rottweiler all day with low-GI energy sources… rather than burning and crashing

Freshly made, low-processed kibble that’s actually good for your dog

The majority of Aussie dogs eat dry dog food (or kibble) as part or all of their diet, but it turns out that a lot of it isn’t doing old mate any good.

Not because dry dog food is bad – that’s just the way it’s prepared – but because big dog food companies often do things on the cheap, using high GI ingredients, straight in/straight out fillers, and very little actual meat (plus additives so it lasts longer on supermarket shelves). Eaten regularly, this gets your woofer’s body out of whack and can cause short-term upset and long-term illness.

Scratch puts better ingredients in, and you get a healthier dog out. Pretty simple but business gets in the way. So, is dry dog food bad? No – much of it is but Scratch is the dry dog food should be.

Hungry dog

Why kibble vs. raw food, chilled food or freeze-dried food?

Dry dog food for Rottweilers is the most convenient, preserved by dehydration and receives a quick temperature kill-step to ensure all microorganisms are eliminated.

Compare Scratch to:

Asset 7

Raw food

Raw food diets are great as they have no processing, but it can be hard to get a complete and balanced diet from raw food alone. It also has other drawbacks like being fresh only for a few days, potential microorganisms such as e-coli, salmonella etc. Cooked protein is also easier to digest than raw.

Wet food

Wet dog food is processed at a high temperature for a long period while sealed to ensure that all micro-organisms are killed. It generally tastes great but contains mostly water and a lot of gelling agents to make the gravy. The term ‘what goes in comes out’ applies well to wet food, and can be the culprit for less-than-ideal number 2s.

Freeze-dried food

Freeze-dried grub is generally higher quality than a lot of the dog food out there, but comes with its own drawbacks. Freeze-drying alone isn’t an effective way to kill all pathogens, so carries similar risks to raw. It’s also crazy expensive.

Box

Or chilled food?

Like dry dog food, chilled dog food has the kill step to eradicate pathogens. It has a short shelf life and is often treated with a lot of preservatives to last the time from factory to home.

How others have found our Rottweiler dog food

They’re no longer fussy!

I have 2 Rottweilers and they are kinda fussy. They used to leave their food until the late afternoon but now they have Scratch biscuits, they eat it within 2 hours.

Great product and he loves it!

I found Scratch and transitioned him over straight away. The first week was a bit of an adjustment for his body but it did not put him off his food, in fact he inhaled it!! Everything has settled down and he is a very happy, healthy camper!
