Our high-protein kibble with heaps of hypoallergenic fish. Absolutely oozin’ with healthy oils and anti-inflammatory omegas, it’s ideal for seniors and sensitive souls with skin and tummy troubles. Read more.
It’s got zero grains, artificial preservatives or dodgy ingredients. Made with wild-caught mackerel and Tassie salmon as the only animal proteins to minimise your mate’s triggers (no sneaky filler chicken here). All while maximising the health of their majestic manes, brains, skin and joints.
Seriously lip-smacking and gentle on the stomach, this is a favourite for fussier pups who struggle with some of the other junk on store shelves.
We pack in as much hypoallergenic all-Aussie fish as we can. No dodgy bits, just a cool 30% protein to keep pups at it all day long and seniors from putting on the pounds.
We’ve picked ingredients that’ll go easy on their guts and your back pocket to make it way better value than other dermatology dog foods. So you can spend on important stuff… like fuzzy yellow balls.
Salmon, coconut, you name it. We mix through a stack of healthy oils high in omegas to keep their brain and joints in top nick. Plus, Vitamins E, A and C to give their skin and coat a glow-up too.
We’ve won over even the pickiest of pups with this irresistibly fishy recipe. Some dogs just love all that mackerel and salmon. Plus we’ve got old favourites like beef fat in there for a flavour punch too.
Most grain-free food swaps a crappy grain for a crappy processed starch. This is choc full of premium meat, wholesome whole veggies and legumes like broad beans and chickpeas. No corn or soy in sight.
Formulated with an animal nutritionist, Scratch is full of grain-free goodness for all life stages.
You won’t find generic names that could mean any part of an animal.

Why mostly mackerel? Easy. Apart from being protein packed, this fish is wild caught in Australia and wildly delicious. It’s low in mercury but super high in B12 which is great for gut health and maintaining their digestion and metabolism.
Straight outta the sea, salmon (whether it’s our meal, digest or oil) is a great all-rounder protein with extra nutrients to support brain development in pups and prevent cognitive decline in seniors.
Broad beans and chickpeas are naturally rich in fibre to boost digestion and the immune system. Say goodbye to upset tummies and hello to perfectly firm number 2s.
This recipe is 100% nutritionally complete for pups through to their twilight years. We don't suggest this for large breed puppies until fully grown (we’re talking big boys who’ll grow up to be 32kg+).
Dog food is unregulated. Some companies claim meat on the packaging without having much of it in there at all. We're leading a new standard of transparency with exact percentages so you really know what's in there.
Scratch well exceeds the AAFCO minimum requirements for all life stages.

One is not better than the other, they are just different (just like we tell our dogs). It all comes down to what your dog needs and prefers. If your dog has any known allergies to common proteins, then Fish or Kangaroo is the right place to start. If your pup is going to grow up to be larger than 32kg, then they should get the Turkey, Lamb & Beef recipe while they are growing. If they’re super active, then Lamb is best. For all other dogs, it really comes down to taste.
If in doubt, take our quiz, tell us about your dog and we’ll be able to recommend the perfect recipe for their needs.
It costs $99 for an 8kg box. But you can also get $10 off when you order 16kg at a time.
Yep, this recipe is great for all life stages (with the exception of large breed puppies) and is a particularly great option for sensitive dogs or older ladies and gents!
Large breed puppies (woofers expected to weigh over 32 kilograms as an adult) have very specific requirements to allow them to grow healthily and to reduce the risk of developmental orthopaedic diseases. This recipe has a high energy content (from good fats & oils) which can lead to large breeds growing too quickly and increasing health risks. It also has higher calcium content than suggested for large breeds. If we think your puppy might not be suitable for a recipe while it’s growing, we’ll prevent you from purchasing at checkout to ensure that no dog owner purchases without checking with their vet first.
If you have a large breed puppy that’s still growing, our Turkey, Lamb & Beef recipe is for you. If your older dog has any specific health concerns, just jump on live chat to check if it’s suitable for their needs.
Our wild-caught mackerel meal is sourced from Australia. Our salmon meal and digest is specifically from Tassie and is a by-product of what is produced for humans (making use of what we don’t eat and that would otherwise go to waste).
Each piece of kibble is approximately 14mm in diameter and pretty flat.
This idea for this recipe initially came about after a shortage of kangaroo. This shortage meant that to get good quality kangaroo meat, it was going to cost us more (which would cost you more). So we got our heads together and asked: what’s the next best protein? The result was our Fish Dish: a high-protein and hypoallergenic option that’s great for sensitivities and inflammation at a more affordable price.
Our OG Roo recipe is still great for dogs who can’t seem to shake tummy or skin issues on other foods or who want added joint support, but this one’ll go easier on your wallet.
About 16.4% of the recipe is Mackerel Meal and 11.4% is Salmon Meal. That’s fish meat, bones & organs that have the fat removed, and are then dehydrated and milled into a powder.
The other 5% is Salmon Digest. This is normally hidden in other manufacturer’s products as ‘gravy’ or ‘natural flavours’. Our digest is salmon meat and organs that are emulsified with a natural enzyme that breaks down the proteins into its amino acids. This makes it easier for dogs to digest and takes the flavour up to 11!
Sure do. We have a whole range of natural treats on offer. If you’re keen on fish, try our Freeze-Dried Salmon Treats.
Sure can – we offer a few options for variety packs. Head to your account page and select to ‘Edit’ your recipe. Choose SuperKibble to pick a mixed box. Or if you’re in Sydney or Melbourne and would prefer to mix kibble with our raw food, choose Kibble + Raw. Having trouble? Just ask on live chat or email our team for help.
It all depends on your dog. Take our quiz to find out for your pup. We’ll ask for their weight, age and activity level and a few other little things.
That helps us estimate their calorie needs, how much Scratch to feed them and how long a box would last. If you have multiple dogs, you’ll get a feeding guide unique to each of them, but they can eat the same box of food.
We’ll base the frequency of a fresh box arriving based on that feeding plan, but you have full control to pause, cancel, speed up or slow down your subscription as needed.
Just like us humans, some dogs don’t like change. It’s also important to remember that sometimes the old food that they may be used to may have had lots of salt or other additives that made it taste great, even if it wasn’t the most healthy. Be persistent and try not to be trained by your fur baby. We can share some tips if you need them! Just get in touch via live chat or email [email protected].
If you’ve tried and you’re still unsure, we do offer a 100% money-back guarantee on your first order, no questions asked. Sometimes they might just not be into that recipe. We’ll include samples in your first box so you can see if they prefer something else so you can switch. See more about our returns policy.
We’ve made it super simple to pause, slow down or speed up your subscription with a click of a button so you’re only getting food whenever you need it.
We also remind you 7 days and again 24 hours ahead of sending more fresh food for your dogs.
Different ingredients produce different amounts of energy and some food is more dense than others, so one cup of two different dog foods can also have a big difference in energy availability.
Our feeding suggestions are usually pretty spot on based on whether your dog is in a healthy weight range, overweight, etc., but you can monitor your dog’s weight and use common sense to feed more or less if your dog’s weight changes unexpectedly.
We calculate how much Scratch each dog should be fed per day based on each individual breed, age, weight and activity level. You can feed them these separate amounts out of the same bag, or we can send two recipes at once if they should eat different things.
Sure will. We’ll let you know 7 days in advance when your next fresh box is due to ship and you’ll be charged (and again when you’re 24 hours away). Each email contains a quick link to choose a new order date that you’d prefer or a button for us to send it ASAP if you’re running low.
We currently use Australia Post, with no signature required. Your driver will leave the box in the safest place possible and leave a card if they think there’s nowhere out of sight. We don’t want you to have to try to get to your local post office during business hours, and then have to lug home a heavy box of food, so let us know if you’d prefer us to leave a note with orders if you have a preferred place for packages.
We ship to most places in Australia. Shipping is free for all Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Launceston, Brisbane & Gold Coast customers and subsidised down to a small fee for everyone else. Head to checkout and enter your address to see exactly how much it is to get to your door.
We’d love to avoid plastic all together, but if moisture was to get into the box it could create mould and be a horrible health risk for your dog. We’re looking at how we can invest in creating a non-plastic bag, but for now we use a bio-based bag made from up to 50% plant material. It’s carbon neutral and *technically* recyclable. If your council supports LDPE recycling or if you can drop it off at another soft plastics collection point. But that’s pretty tough. So you’ll see on the bag we’ve said to put it in the bin.
The good news is: when it ends up in landfills it breaks down into biogenic carbon instead of generating any greenhouse gas emissions.
We have chosen not to sell in pet stores. We can get you better food for the same price, speak to you about the needs of your dog and send fresher food based on your next order dates.
Sure do. Grab a sample here. We are confident that your dog will love our kibble and that you’ll see the benefits over time. You can also cancel at any time without restriction, and we offer a money-back guarantee on your first box if you’re unsure after transitioning.
30 years ago, most dogs lived in the backyard rather than on the bed. We now fully accept them into our families as little fur babies. While pet food has improved, we don’t think that regulation has kept up. In fact, it is still only a voluntary standard that exists, and that was written by the pet food industry itself. While our manufacturing partners are PFIAA members and audited to the voluntary standard, we have currently chosen not to join. We especially believe that the standard does not demand the transparency that consumers expect and deserve. The flexibility that it allows marketers to deceive and promote is more appropriate for business generations ago, not now.

Fish are jam-packed with DHA and EPA – the kind of neuroprotective Omega-3s that improve the brain’s blood flow and strengthen cell membranes to help things like memory and learning.
They’re also bursting with B Vitamins to keep your dog sharp. Like B12 and B6, essential for brain function and neurotransmitter production. Or B1 a.k.a Thiamine that can help prevent neurological decline.
Why do we recommend it for dogs getting up there? Ocean fish won’t just support your old gal learning new tricks. Those anti-inflammatory Omega-3s help relieve chronic inflammation that comes with ageing – whether it’s their brain, creaky joints or sweet heart.
Plus they’ve got antioxidants (namely Selenium and Vitamin E) that keep coats glorious (even if a bit grey). As well as protect cells from damage by free radicals and help prevent golden oldies from developing cancers.
