Black Hawk is owned by Masterpet, a New Zealand-born company with some newer Aussie factories. Black Hawk food is manufactured in rural NSW with Aussie-sourced ingredients.

You won’t find any ingredient percentages on a bag of Black Hawk dog food, unlike Scratch which tells you exactly what goes into old mate’s grub. They’re also prone to using generic ingredients like ‘Ocean Fish meal’, which is usually a mix of whatever fish species is cheapest at the time rather than specific quality sources (e.g. Salmon).

Black Hawk hasn’t done a whole lot to reduce their global footprint, compared to Scratch who donates 2% of revenue, does carbon neutral deliveries and 100% transparent sustainability metrics.

Damn good grub 😉	As always, hard to tell without disclosing quantities. Some things are beneficial at small levels, but you don’t want too much. Or are good whole (like peas), but bad when processed (like peas). A bit starchy (potato and tapioca) for our liking. Simple recipe, but wheres the veggies? Potentially very high in carbs. Decent if not too much rice, and if that’s whole brown rice (nutritionally very superior to white rice). Lots of starchy ingredienets. Multiple protein sources makes it risky for sensitive dogs Decent recipe for the typical dog if protein is high quality, and in balanced quantities.
