And not all grains are created equal. “Grain” can mean a whole lotta different things, from highly processed and refined wheats and corns, to healthier alternatives of ancient grains and pseudo-cereals like spelt, freekeh, bulgur, farro, oats, brown rice, chia and pseudo-cereals like quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat, and chia. Best to check labels carefully.
Ahhh, puppies. Those furry little legends. Puppies require more DHA, salt and protein than adult dogs, so generally puppy food is the best quality stuff around. Adult dogs benefit from those same high standards (they just don't need it to 'sustain life' which is what standards are based off.
All Scratch recipes exceed minimum standards for puppies and adults, so they can keep the same high standard of food once they grow up strong and resilient. Our Turkey, Beef & Lamb recipe is also suitable food for large breed puppies.
